Ready To Join Stambush!

Giving Staffing a Good Name

Another Competitor Joins Stambush
Last week a therapy professional from another agency joined Stambush because his/her agency did not find any work for a week and a half. Sounds ridiculous, I know, especially when you consider this therapist was willing to drive a maximum of 60 minutes and work in any setting. That is how it is out there in the non-Stambush contract world, though. If we think about it, it makes perfect sense. Why would a director not want to use Stambush first? We will not send them an inexperienced new graduate, and everyone in the company has either taken a competency test to join or they have been proving themselves worthy over and over again for many years (PTs and PTAs have always had to take a test, but our OTs, COTAs and SLPs for approximately the last 15 and 5 years respectively). How did this person hear of us? A fellow Stambusher, of course, but the cool thing was that our fellow Stambusher was backed up by a lot of facility staff who all agreed Stambush was the best. And yes, our fellow Stambusher will get the referral fee: $100 for the interview and $1,000 after two months of full-time work.

Continuation of Competitor Who Joined Stambush

In addition to not having work for over a week and a half, our new therapist was told by her old (and, may I say, unprofessional and unreliable staffing agency) that she would have to pay extra for her health insurance since she wasn’t working. Of course I gasped and said, “but it was their fault you weren’t working." She responded, “I know. I didn’t think that was right.”

Sell Out Times Two

I heard another interesting story from a therapist who was working for a staffing company while out on medical leave. While on leave, the company was sold to another company and did not tell the therapist. When the therapist called to ask what was going on, he/she heard, “oh we decided to merge with this other company so we can get cheaper insurance. Someone should have told you."

Lunch with a Customer

I ate lunch with a customer last week who told me that one of our competitors sent him/her a person with a temporary license. When confronted with how wrong this was, the staffing agency said something like, “Oh this is a good deal. She is a really good therapist.” Of course, this is coming from an agency that does not competency test.

A Fast Food Worker's View of the Public

The other day I was at a fast food place, and I asked the lady at the window what her job has taught her about people, and here is what she told me: They can’t make up their minds They are rude They think they are morning people when they are really not They lie I guess you all don't eat at that place. :)
