Giving Staffing a Good Name

Memorializing and Clearing Up the Save The Day (STD) Plan

As many of you know, the (STD) Plan pays $100 per day you are not working as long as you are “bookable.” In the past we have always told people what we mean by “bookable” (it is also in the P&P), but in a constant search for clarity, we now have a document for people to sign making sure we are all on the same page. The document has more detail; however, I will provide a short summary here. In order to be considered bookable, an employee must:

Not be employed or contracted anywhere else (home health is an exception since we do not staff home health)
Be a full-time employee and available to work 5 days a week, M-F
Agree to drive a maximum of 60 minutes one way
Have all credentials up to date
Not have any facility unwilling to accept EE
Be ready, willing and able to work in any setting and any facility
Be able to get to work
Give Stambush at least 48 hours’ notice (excluding holidays) that EE wants work.
Be ready to work if called upon; even on the morning of the assignment – Sorry this is redundant but it has proven to be very material.
Notify Stambush means speaking to either Fred Salazar or Tricia Albracht.

Sign the Document to Continue Getting or Start Getting the STD Plan

If you think you might qualify and are interested, please contact Fred or Tricia to get the document so you can make sure. Out of loyalty, the STD Plan is only available to folks who’ve joined before 1/1/2013. I hope to open it back up when the market settles back down. Anybody who wants STD money for this week must sign the document and return it to Tricia by 2/11/2013. Folks who want to start but may not qualify because of a PRN job have until 2/28/2013 to sign the document and begin. If anyone has any questions, extenuating circumstances you want us to consider, or just the wish to comment, please call Fred or Tricia right away. Time is of the essence.

Our Speed Slams the Competition

In addition to having great therapists, we also have a great system that makes it much easier for the customer to call Stambush. How so? When customers call Fred or Tricia for staff, Fred and Tricia are often able to make the booking right on the spot. Other agencies have to either call their therapists (a time waster), or they give a name and hope the person will take the assignment. When the therapist says no, this either makes the agency look like a liar or makes the therapist look unreliable (from what I hear, agencies don’t take the blame-they throw it on the therapist). Those things don’t happen to us because we know who is available and what their paramaters are, but sometimes even the mighty Stambush has a little trouble contacting folks in the morning for an immediate assignment. How can we avoid that? We must keep our cell phone charged and with us at all times, with the ringer on loud. Then, when Fred or Tricia call, our speed will slam the competition.

Customer Recognition - Thought You Might Like It

I recently exchanged emails with a customer about Stambush in my constant effort to make sure that Stambush gets all the ethical work. Here are a couple of excerpts of what our customer said.

“…we always prefer booking through you because we know you’re reliable and your therapists will perform.”

“…your team will see every need that is posted; I actually often go to them first and then post with a wider distribution if they do not have anyone available. This will continue to be the case, and I look forward to building a stronger business relationship with your agency this year.”

Super Bowl Sunday Was Also Interview Sunday – We Have Our Own Super Bowl To Win!

Even though yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday and most other 54 year old menzes (I misspelled on purpose cause I like to say that word) were sitting on the couch (nothing wrong with that either), I was interviewing another therapist (Therapist A) from another agency. This therapist heard about us from another therapist (Therapist B), who also works for another agency, and that Therapist B heard about us through one of you…he/she thinks. Word is that Therapist B will be calling us to join shortly.

The Ethical Value of Stambush

As I sat there listening to how therapist A was being treated, I was so proud of how well you all must be communicating about the ethical value of Stambush. Although Therapist A did not know a lot of specifics, he/she was already sold on our business ethics and the way we treat our talent (that is, you all). So, at the risk of being redundant, here is a summary of some of our business ethics. Because, the truth is, we are all sales people.

Equal pay takes the corrupt motivation out of choosing who to place first.
No commission takes corrupt motivation out of a whole host of issues.
One year of experience at least – we don’t want to harm the profession we make money off of.
We don’t pay our therapist to steal our customers staff – that is rotten.
We gladly pay our talent overtime even when we don’t charge overtime – it is the right thing to do.
We don’t charge double time for holidays – that makes customers withhold work.
We don’t milk 8 hour guarantees out of our customers and then only pay our talent for the hours worked when they are sent home early – that is awful.

In sum, Stambush offers ethical value to both our talent and our customers, and this ethical value translates into more money for our talent and our customers.
