Giving Staffing a Good Name

February 6th, 2014

A Belated Welcome To The World Colton McCrory and a Belated Congratulations to Lauren McCrory, PT and Her Hubby

Our very own Lauren McCrory, PT had her baby Colton McCrory on June 14th, 2013. He loves watching football with his daddy and crawling backwards around the living room. Colton started sleeping through the night at about 2 months old, and he wakes up smiling every morning. At the time Lauren sent me this info, Colton had been a complete little angel. But now, because of my slow poke reporting skillz, Colton is almost 8 months old so I suspect a few things have changed, but with our two kids, the personalities seem to stay the same.

Customer Requests Are Growing Again

After spending what seems like a long downward drift in customer requests, things are now picking up and we are getting more and more calls from our customers for their staffing needs. Funny how this goes. You would think that after 25 years in business, we would always know when the downturn is coming and when the upturn is coming; but we don’t. Every year is different than the year before so we just keep working at being true to you and who we are. And that means working on getting everyone well matched with good customers, and making sure our customers find us to be not only the best agency in terms of skilled talent, but also the easiest company to work with. In short, we must have the best teamwork in every area.

Adversity, Power, and What They Reveal About Staffing Agencies

We all understand that both adversity and power can reveal a company’s character, but specifically what kinds of things happen? I’m glad you asked. Here are a few examples of how some agencies, as well as your very own Stambush, have revealed their character through both adversity and power over the years…In my opinion of course.

Up Market Bringing Power

While some staffing agencies try to hire every warm body with a license so they can make more money, Stambush won’t.
While some staffing companies hire inexperienced new graduates to pay them less and increase their profit margin, Stambush won’t.
While some staffing companies guarantee their talent’s salaries if there is a market downturn, Stambush won’t. We believe that during an up market, salary guarantees are not necessary. And during down markets, salary guarantees are impossible.
While some staffing agencies do not give competency tests to their applicants, Stambush does.
While some staffing agencies give a competency test along with the correct answers, Stambush won’t.

Down Market Bringing Adversity?

While some staffing companies take back their empty promises, Stambush has no empty promises to take back.
What empty promises? I heard one agency guaranteed their talent’s salary if the talent took less money per hour. The talent took less pay and when the market dived, the agency discontinued the guaranteed salary. I wonder if any of those folks got a raise when the guaranteed salary program ended? Anybody know?
While some companies terminate their office staff at the first sign of trouble, Stambush does not.
Our office staff supports our customers, our talent, and our company. Terminating office staff or anybody else is not something we take lightly…at all.
While other companies stop supporting your professions by no longer sponsoring events, Stambush continues to support your professions.
Yep! When times are good, the TPTA SED meetings are crawling with agencies telling students how great contract work is and how much the agency wants to support their profession. Then the downturn comes and “poof pow” they disappear. Many times during this latest downturn, Stambush Staffing is the only sponsor at all…and we don’t even hire inexperienced new grads.

Thanks for choosing Stambush. That says something about you all too.

Stambush Gonna be at Texas Speech Hearing Association at End of This Month

For all you SLPs out there wondering if Stambush supports TSHA, we will be there at the George R. Brown Convention Center Feb. 27, 28, and March 1. Not to hire inexperienced new graduates, just to say thank you to the Speech profession.

Did You Get Your W-2?
