Ready To Join Stambush!

Giving Staffing a Good Name

July 24th, 2012

Congratulations Melody Smith, SLP
Please join me in congratulating Melody Smith and her husband Guillermo Cazares on the birth of Ana Catherine Cazares. Ana Catherine (that is her first name) was born 6/29/12 via c-section at 8:34pm. Ana Catherine came in to the world weighing 5 lbs. 13 oz. and is 18 1/2" long. According to Melody, “she is home now and doing well. She has huge lungs, loves to be held, and is tolerating us changing her clothes so she can sport all her sassy clothes." Melody also says, “Thank you to everyone who prayed for our sweet miracle. We are overjoyed.”
My apologies for not sending you all this earlier. Here's an update: Ana Catherine is now 20.5 inches long and weighs nearly 8 lbs.

We are all very happy for you Melody. We wish you and your family the best.

Home Health Patient's Dog Attacks Therapist

About a year ago a therapist I know went to his/her patient’s home to provide therapy. At some point, there was a small dog in the way and the patient asked the therapist to put the small dog outside. Happy to help, the therapist took the small dog to the back door and opened it. Unfortunately and unknowingly, there was a much larger and angry dog on the other side of the door. When the therapist opened the door, the large dog attacked him/her, knocking the therapist to the floor while attacking him/her the whole time. The therapist fought for his/her life, and the attack finally ended. I am not sure if the patient helped.

Since then, that dog has been put to sleep. But the therapist is still not doing so well with damages including but not limited to: constant bone pain, scarring, and being terrified of dogs.

Many Facilities Love to Pay Salary

I recently met an ex-Stambusher who is salaried and being worked a whole lot more than 40 hours. Interestingly, this person took the “permanent” job so he/she would be in the same place all the time and  closer to home, and that was supposed to be better for his/her kids and spouse. Of course, this wonderful person is being paid a salary, and what once looked like a good deal is now becoming draining. Will he/she come back to Stambush? I do not know. I did make my point about how salaried positions make the hourly rate you think you are getting go lower and lower the more hours you work over 40. And, one of his/her last words were, “don’t tempt me."

The Stambush Overtime Policy

All Stambush contractors get paid time and a half when they work over 40 hours in a week. All Stambush contractors have a better chance of getting overtime than other contractors with other agencies because Stambush does not charge time and a half to a Facility unless the Facility actually incurs it. For instance, if you work at one Facility for 40 hours and another facility for 4 hours, Stambush will not charge overtime. Other agencies will, and that is why their people do not get much overtime.  Why do we have such an unusual overtime policy compared to the industry standard?
