Death Struck Twice This Month
This month, two of our own (Nola and Byron) lost their fathers. Below is a brief description Byron wrote about his dad. I am hoping Nola will send me something too but I haven’t been able to contact her in the Philippines yet.

My father, Harold Joseph "Joe" Baugh, died Friday July 5th, 2013 at the age of 64, due to mucinous adenocarcinoma of the colon, initially diagnosed in the fall of 2009. Joe is survived by his wife Kathy Olis, his older brother, Jim, younger brother, John, daughter, Briony Baugh Scott, and son, Byron Black. Joe was a hard-working man in his working years, and a fun-loving optimist all of his life, never looking at the glass 'half empty'. I will forever miss my scuba diving partner. – Byron Black, PT

Shirley Kendziora Joins Stambush Again! Is the 4th Time the Charm?

OTR Extraordinaire Shirley Kendziora recently called us to rejoin Stambush. Shirley already holds the record for quitting Stambush the most since she has already left us three times before. So, upon meeting Shirley, I thanked her, and I also asked her why she wanted to come back to contract because I remembered Shirley was always so emphatic about staying close to home. Here is my attempt at capturing what she told me: "Well I know I could get a job at some facilities near me, but I don’t really know them, and while I know working with Stambush could put me not so close to home, I just asked myself: "what is more important? Close to home or an ethical company? After that, it was easy to come back to Stambush."

No More Free CPR - Sorry

Because the American Heart Association changed how things get done, I cannot offer free CPR anymore. However, I am still involved, and my part will be free to you. Here is how it will work from now on.

Go to aha.org and take the BLS for Health Care Providers class. It cost $22 last I heard, and you must print out a certificate showing that you completed the class.
Arrange a time for me to give you the practical testing portion. Then I need to get a class number from the company I go through.
Bring the certificate to me, and I will test you out.
I will then have to send paperwork in to make sure you are in the system. Then I have to order a card for you (about $8-9). I will pay for the cost of the card.

If I had any control over this new method I would try to make things easier, but I don’t.
