Giving Staffing a Good Name

September 28th, 2012

We Don't Do That
We recently heard about a staffing company that pulled their therapy professional, who was booked at a facility for one day, so that they could place that person in a long term job. In other words, that agency just proved (again) how unreliable and unprofessional they are, and I wouldn’t blame the customer if they decided to never use that agency again.

“But Scott”, some would say, “isn’t it better to get a long term placement instead of a one day job?" My response is what most, if not all, of you can imagine. Of course a long term job is better than a one day job, but we will never go back on our word to a customer even if something better comes along. Now that does not mean we will lose the long term assignment, either. We have a very long history of getting what we want. In fact, we do it all the time, but we use truth and reason to get what we want. We tell our customers what is going on in our world and what we are trying to achieve, which almost always means that we are trying to help everybody out. Directors love that. People love that.  That is why we are so popular. Everybody trusts us, and they should!

You Are a Force to be Reckoned With
I recently spoke with someone who had been in charge of calling for contract help and he/she told me:

Stambush is the only agency for me, because I don’t trust the others. Even when I need help and Fred says he doesn’t have anyone, I still won’t use the other agencies. They have even called me and asked, "do you need any help?" I say "no we are fine." Then, I call Fred and ask, "Do you have anybody yet?”
I have used [other agencies] in the past, and I look at them and say, "oh my God. I think we are OK now. You can go home. We have it under control."
In 11 years, I have NEVER had a bad Stambush person.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is what makes you giant killers. The big box agency chain stores can come here if they want, but our competence, personalities, work ethic, attitudes toward the patient and staff makes (as one former big shot from another agency told me) Stambush a force to be reckoned with! Thank you all for making this happen.

Kill Them with Kindness and Helpfulness

When we are at a facility and things slow down so much there is nothing to do, we have a perfect opportunity to find something to do. That doesn’t mean read a book or get on Facebook. I am talking about going around to all the staff (including other agency personnel) and asking if they need any help. Yes: when I say staff, I am also talking about the secretaries. Of course, I would ask them last. The other therapy professionals in the department are the first ones we should ask. Stambush already stands out as the best agency by far, but by adding more kindness and helpfulness, we will be an asset to our customers. Let the other agencies be liabilities. That is not us.

Walk a Little Slower

Walk a little slower Daddy,
Said a little child so small.
I’m following in your footsteps,
And I do not want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they’re hard to see.
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I am all grown up,
You’re what I want to be.
Then I will have a little child,
Who’ll want to follow me.

And, I would want to lead just right,
And, I’d know that I was true.
So, walk a little slower Daddy.
For I must follow you.

Quote of the Week

Kill the habit of worry, in all its forms, by reaching a general, blanket decision that nothing which life has to offer is worth the price of worry.
