Qualifications
 
A successful candidate must:

    Hold a current nursing license in the State of Texas
    Be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
    Have current CPR certification
    Have current certifications as required per setting
    Possess at least 2 years of direct care experience within the United States
    Pass the competency test administered by Stambush
    Demonstrate a professional and reasonable attitude

Responsibilities

    Promote and restore patients’ health through completing the nursing process
    Coordinate care in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members
    Administer medications, wound care and numerous other personalized interventions
    Interpret patient information and make critical decisions about actions needed
    Direct and supervise care rendered by other healthcare personnel like LPNS and nurse aides
    Provide physical and psychological support to patients, friends and families


Job Description

    Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and other persons in position to understand care requirements
   

    Establishes a compassionate environment through providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, friends and families
   

    Promotes patient independence through establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care     skills; answering questions
   

    Assures quality of care by adhering to the therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or

    recommending necessary adjustments as needed; following hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by the state board of nursing,

    state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations

    Resolve patient problems and needs using multidisciplinary team strategies

    Maintains safe and clean working environment in accordance with procedures, rules and regulations; calling for assistance form health care support personnel

    Protects patients and employees by complying with infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled         substance regulations
